Railcar Loading – Unloading Systems

Railcar  loading  systems On Spot facilities are filling stations for rail cars with a top loading system and a high filling capacity.   The filling of rail cars is similar to a flow line system (sequential procedure). The filling pipe is arranged inside the On Spot facilities on a hydraulically movable filling pipe slide.


The emptying of rail cars in semi-automatic or full automatic system. Dipl.-Ing. SCHERZER GmbH plans and delivers not only the rail car unloading plants but interprets the  complete unloading enclosure including incl. automation, loading computer, test value recording system, pipe line system, tension supply, building etc.

Tank Truck Loading – Unloading Systems

The road tanker filling systems are designed according to economical and ecological aspects. They are erected at roofed filling places, designed for handling hazardous products.



The filling rates can be designed for 2.200 litres/min. A control and data recording systems allows the operator to release all functions. No maloperation or manipulation are possible.  The loading documents are followed and processed in a central measuring station.

Ship Loading – Unloading Systems

The ship is loaded from the tanks involved by means of the pumps of the tank yard via a calibrated and  temperature compensated measuring system.


The ship is unloaded by the ship’s pumps or by stationary pumps at the jetty.The measuring values should preferably be recorded by calibrated tank filling level measuring devices, because volumetric measuring systems would require a more comprehensive extent of construction  due to the high vapourvolume in the bilge phase.

LPG Loading – Unloading Systems

The concept of facilities handling liquid hydrocarbons and mixtures thereof meets the highest requirements in terms of fire protection and operational safety and user-friendliness of the complete automated plant.
